I can't believe it's been about a month since I posted last. The summer is flying by so quickly. We have been really busy. Sam finished segment one of drivers education and now has his permit. I'm telling you, driving with a new driver is the most frustrating and mentally exhausting thing you can do. My favorite part of letting him drive with me is when I correct him on something, he says that I'm making him nervous and that was not how he was taught. UGH! I've decided to let Jeff take charge of the practice driving until he gets more comfortable behind the wheel.
Jacob has completed one session of volunteering at the camp for special needs kids. He had a great time and looks forward to the second session that starts next week. Next Friday we are off to an amusement/waterpark for the day with a bunch of friends. Should be fun.
Potty training update: Sorry, no report. There is no hope for this kid. Last night Jacob and I were talking to him about going potty in the toilet. He confessed he's afraid he'll fall in. I tell him I will hold him, but he can always go on his little potty. No, he says that will not work because it doesn't have a "flusher". Obviously, he's not ready. But I am! I'm sick of buying diapers!
That's about all that's going on. Hope everyone is having a great summer so far!
Where did the year go??

Yay Sam! Congrats on the permit! That being said, I can imagine the frustration... I can't beleive that in just 8 more years I will be going through that! Keep up the awesome work Jacob! It's so great that he is helping all those great kids! As far as the potty training goes, have you tried the smaller potty seat that sits ight on the actual toilet? I had one for Akela and she loved it! You can get them for about $8 at Walmart! We bought 3! One for each of our 2 bathrooms and one to stay in the car for when we were at restaurants, stores, grandmoms ect. Good luck! Some kids are just really tough about training! Akela surely was! Have a great time at the amusement park!!!!
Congratulations Sam! Jacob is doing a really awesome job! Andrea took awhile to train also. She was afraid of falling in. How about one of those standing urinals? I hear they are great!
Congratulations Sam on your permit! What an exciting (and I'm sure frustrating) time! I've already told Jason that he'll have to teach our kids how to drive at first because I'm afraid I'll be crazy in the car and just make them more nervous. :)
That is awesome that Jacob had such a great time volunteering at camp! Way to go, Jacob - such a good kid!
Good luck with the potty training! Simon really likes his little seat that fits on the "big" potty. Maybe if he had one with handles on the side, he would feel a little more comfortable. We are also looking at getting Simon a peter potty now, so I'll let you know how it goes. I think Destini has commented before about Trace really liking his peter potty.
